Could we join forces with existing charities like clientearth.org and/or theclimategroup.org ? One is forcing the hand of governments and large organisations where it matters most, the other is building a consensus across those organisations that have the most impact. In both cases the targets are not the general public, who feel a bit powerless, even, especially, if they take direct actions that eventually leads nowhere - the targets are organisations that know very well what they're doing, and could become a force for good if channelled the right way. They would in turn bring the public along with them, which basically is where we want to be. Thoughts?
The gatekeepers are the media and no media is more powerful than the broadcast media. My view is that NVDA should be focussed upon BBC News and ITN (which is responsbile for ITV, C4 and C5 news).
Until the great mass of people understand the staggering scale of the threat, we will not the pace of change we need to stop complete and utter catastophe.
Literally billions of lives are at stake. But the very worst scenarios can still be avoided, even though a degree of severe pain is now locked in for the poorest, most vulnerable nations. We have an absolute duty to act.
